Improving Everyday Life: Listen to Your Inner Voice

Improving Everyday Life: Listen to Your Inner Voice : "Everyone has intuition— it’s just a matter of developing it. All you need is the desire and expectation which is the bride and bridegroom ..."

Trust Your Intuition

Everyone has intuition— it’s just a matter of developing it. All you need is the desire and expectation which is the bride and bridegroom in joining with this innate gift you do posses. The problem is too often people fail to tap into this innate powerful source because they confer with everybody and everything else but themselves. They go to great lengths to not be alone, to be surrounded by others yet only by “aloneness”, not loneliness, can you learn to tune this still small voice in you. To solve this problem, practice dwelling with yourself for a short time every day in order to learn how to love solitude and practice having complete stillness within. This is by far the best way to learn how to activate your inner guidance voice. It is possible after practice to be able to activate this voice regardless of surrounding noise, but to start you must have complete solitude. In addition, it is worth mentioning that there are three voices in your mind: your voice (which...

Break Your Negative Habits

A habit is a conditioned response we have programmed into ourselves by continually doing a particular action until it becomes a second nature. It is not an instinct, it is a reaction, and a reaction is caused by repetition. The problem is we are conditioned by our environment from childhood to think, act, and feel the way we do. A parent who has, for example, been conditioned to negative responses can pass on those same attitudes to a child, despite the fact that the child may have far more hidden talents than the parent ever had. For example, as a child we are often conditioned by influence rather than some act or experience. When someone remarks that “the child certainly has his father's temper" it is not because the child inherited it, it is because the child was conditioned to it, he learned it. If we see that a fit of temper results in someone else getting what he/she wants, or gets satisfaction from such a display, we attempt to express ourselves similarly. If it works...

Visualize the End Result

We usually avoid working hard or pushing ourselves harder just for the sake of doing so, but if you focus on a positive benefit to completing your tasks you’ll feel more inclined to work on them. The problem is since the picture of reality is so vivid in your mind you may find it difficult to imagine the outcome you want.  To solve this problem, set aside 10 minutes before you begin doing anything you want to do and imagine how you’ll feel when the job is done. Allow yourself to feel the feelings you’ll feel once you accomplish what you’ve set out to do – whether it is satisfaction, pride, happiness, excitement, or simply relief. This gets the good feelings flowing and motivates you to do whatever it takes to make it a reality, and experience it “for real”. Too often, however, we do not use the process of visualization to our advantage. Our imagination is not there to make us afraid all the time, to be filled with worries, doubts, and fears. It is to get a jump on the futu...

Push yourself harder

Are you feeling unmotivated because you feel you’ve not done your best, or have cheated yourself? There is no doubt that doing less than you know you can do will cause all kinds of guilt feelings manifesting themselves in certain ways. When people feel they have not done their best they feel they have cheated themselves— and they start to rationalize why they didn't perform as they know they were capable of. This leads to a shift in personal responsibility to blaming external circumstances and opens the door wider for negative thinking to take control of the individual. To solve this problem, always extend yourself to full capacity. Most of us have the habit of coddling and pampering ourselves rather than pushing ourselves to be better and do better. You can trick your mind to believe that you can do more in a short time. For example, if you think that you can take an hour to finish a task or goal, make it your mission to finish it in 30 minutes. If you think you are capable ...

Eliminate Excessive Obligations

Are you making things more difficult than they ought to be because you juggle too many tasks at the same time? If your answer is “yes” to the foregoing question, then you’re not alone! I must admit that I have been doing this for a long time. Let me tell you how it all started:  The truth is I didn’t know the value of having written goals or their vital importance as ingredients toward achieving what I want. I spent my time doing unimportant and unnecessary things for long hours during the day when I was a teenager. For example, I could spend about 6-7 hours a day just playing video games!  However, my life changed when circumstances forced me into a great aloneness in my late teenage years. Gradually, I turned my attention from playing video games to reading books, and it was during this time that I learned the art of goal-setting. In addition, I learned that in order to maintain balance I had to set goals in every area. So, I started listing many goals in the following ...

Just Begin

“The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to ensure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum.”                                                - Anthony Robbins The question is are you making the start of any objective difficult by convincing yourself that it will be unpleasant and boring? You need to realize that it is the beginning of a task that is more difficult than continuing once the momentum has been created. Once you have the momentum you will become unstoppable. Consistency creates momentum and momentum is sustained through consistency. Moreover, procrastination has got to be one of the major factors preventing people from achieving their goals. What you need to realize is that delay is the deadlies...

8 Ways to Improve Your Attitude

Attitudes are nothing more than habits of thought and habits can be acquired. They can be formed and learned. It is significant to note here that you are individually the sum-total of the thinking habits you have acquired up to this point in your life. There is obviously no way to avoid your earlier environmental influence. You can, however, definitely influence your current environment and thoughts. You can consciously and constructively change your habits and attitudes for the better.  Here are 8 ways to improve your attitude today: 1. Imagine positive outcomes The scripture says that we should meditate on things that are of good report. (Philippians 4:8) The problem is that anyone can unconsciously slip into the habit of negative thinking, and this fills the mind with worry and fear. The good news is you can replace a negative thought by a positive one using visualization. Bear in mind that attitudes are habits of thought so keep your mind on what you want, not on what y...

Develop a Positive Mental Attitude

Everything that you do in life is determined by your attitude and 90 per cent of your success will be determined by how positive your mental attitude is. We all want good results in life and the single most important factor that guarantees good results is a healthy attitude. A person with poor attitude is a magnet for unpleasant experiences. They literally attract bad experiences. These experiences act to reinforce the person’s bad attitude by confirming their expectations about negative outcomes.  Moreover, adults who now have a conditioned negative attitude aren’t even aware of why they fail to achieve what they want. What they term "bad luck" seems to confirm their gloomy predictions. They want success and everything the word implies but yet they think that failure is due to outside circumstances when all the while they are carrying within themselves the seeds of their own failure— negative thinking. We should realize that our thinking determines our actions, and it is o...

Every human being has sufficient abilities, ideas, and opportunities to make them rich in every area of their life. 7 Key Reasons Why People Don’t Get What They Want

Do you ever wonder why you don’t achieve some of the goals you set for yourself? Why is it that when people decide what they want they don’t get it? Here are 7 key reasons for the non-attainment of goals: 1. They can’t see the end result Whatever you want to accomplish must first be completed in your before you can accomplish it physically. You have your own “practice arena" in your mind to use to your advantage. Moreover, before you do anything you may find difficult: speaking in public, going for an interview and so on, practice in your mind’s eye first. See yourself doing what you want to do vividly in your mind. 2. They are unwilling to pay the price For every achievement there is a price to pay. The key is to identify and pay it in advance before we’ll get what we want. It could be sacrificing pleasure time, tightening the belt while saving for something, or learning a new skill. Whatever it is, decide beforehand that you will do whatever it takes to get the results y...

How to Live Successfully As a Christian

The Bible says that if anyone is in union with Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away, and new things have come into existence. (2 Corinthians 5:17) This means that we put away the old personality, and put on the new personality which was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty. (Ephesians 4:22-24) Furthermore, repenting and receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior, being forgiven, and having your name written in the Book of Life, is just the start of a LONG-LASTING Christian journey, which should take you to heaven. To live as a Christian successfully and, without a shred of doubt, succeed to enter heaven, you have to practice the following 10 basic biblical principles: 1. Study the word of God every day The word will not only reveal to you the amazing promises that God has in store for you, but also show you what He likes and what He hates. (1 Peter 2:1-2, James 1:21, Psalms 1:2-3, Psalms119:9-11) 2. Pray every day Thank God (as...

How to Become a Christian

To become a Christian, the following happens: 1. You hear or read the Word of God. 2 . Through the working of the holy spirit, the word reveals the following to you: a) That you are a sinner. The scripture says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) b) That the wages sin pays is death; that is separation from God and everlasting suffering in the lake of fire. (See Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:12-15) c) That by your own efforts you cannot save yourself from the power of sin and the lake of fire. (Romans 7:14-24) d) That there is someone who can save you from going to the lake of fire; and He is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who took your place and died on the cross, to save you from sin. (1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 Peter 3:18) e) That you can choose to repent and receive Jesus in your life, who forgives and gives eternal life, or choose to continue in sin and end up in the lake of fire. (John 3:16) 3. Your response to the word you heard or rea...

Warm up by taking care of the easy stuff first

If you just can’t get yourself to tackle that big task ahead of you, work on the some smaller tasks first so that you can build the momentum for the bigger ones. Depending on your personality and current mood, you might be ready to take on the challenging one. But if you are not ready, you’d better begin with the small ones.

Tackle the Most Difficult Task First

Sometimes we become unexcited about doing what we want because we convince ourselves in the beginning that it is very difficult. As a result, we keep putting off what we know we have to do until it becomes too late to do it. One way to overcome this habit, and boost your motivation at the same time, is to take on that difficult task first. Make it the most important task for the day and do your best to complete it excellently. As soon as you successfully tackle this task, the lack of interest to complete the next task vanishes and you’ll feel good about yourself.
Do not wait; the time will never be just right. Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.                                                                      - Napoleon Hill

10 Tips on How to Put Your Goals on Paper

It is imperative that you put all your goals down on paper in a way that is clear, easy to follow, and provides all the information you need at a glance in order to provide a guide for you to stay on course. Here are some goal-setting guidelines to help you: 1. Decide what you want  Make a list of all the things you want to do, have, achieve, buy, and become in every area of your life: business, financial, career, physical, health, family, social, personal, fun, adventure, mental, emotional, spiritual, and ethical. Also, be as clear and specific as possible with each goal (specify the size, color, deadline, and so on).  Put the goal down in a goal journal (this could be spiral-bound A4 papers or something better) and state it in a way that is challenging and exciting. If you are not excited (you know when you’re excited), then you’ve stated your goal incorrectly. 2. Determine the type of goal you’ve set There are three types of goals: short, medium, and long-term ...

Top 5 Reasons Why You Haven’t Got What You Want

We have the power within to choose what we want to do, have, achieve, and become in every area of our lives. Too often, however, when some people decide what they want, they never get it. What are the reasons? Everyone may come up with some reasons for the non-attainment of their goals, but here are the top five reasons: 1. No Written Goals Many people don’t keep a goal journal and in fact only about 3% of adults have written goals. Since their goals are not written down, they cannot create the psychological commitment that is possible only when goals are written down. As a result, they cannot set their priorities straight, set deadlines, and maintain balance in their lives. Furthermore, without written goals they lack a guide to help them stay on course. 2 . No Clear and Specific Goals  The enthusiasm within you which will be kindled will burn brightly with a specific goal. The problem is that too many people set goals that are not clearly and specifically defin...

5 Tips to Build Your Confidence

A positive thinker is a self-encourager. If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. On the other hand, with confidence, you have won even before you start. Here are five tips to boost your confidence every day: 1. Each time you initiate action always remember your past successful experiences. When you evoke these feelings, you will feel successful and act with confidence. 2. Realize that confidence comes from belief. Believe in yourself actively, not passively-- it can make you do the seemingly impossible. 3. You belief more of what you hear yourself say than what you hear anyone say about you. Moreover, the scripture says that we’ll eat the fruit of our words. (Proverbs 13:2) So from this moment, start affirming out loud, “I am confident” or something similar and this in turn will evoke feelings of confidence instantly. 4. Accept all your negative feelings, failures, and mistakes as a challenge. Confidence is simply the ability to rise ab...
