Do a Good Deed
Avoiding doom and gloom is a good start, but you can become more motivated if you do nice things for others as often as possible. Do you know someone you can help today? Do you know anyone who needs words of encouragement, financial aid, guidance and counseling, or any other need that you can meet? The scripture says that the one freely watering others will himself also be freely watered. (See Proverbs 11:25) The problem is that sometimes we get caught up in thinking about how big our problems are, or how we cannot solve them and this can make us to feel powerless because we can’t do anything about them—things only God can change. I’ve learned that sometimes by thinking on purpose about doing things for others without any possibility for compensation or acknowledgment, it not only makes me feel better, but also allows God to make use of others to meet my needs.
