Give Yourself Reasons Why You Can

Each one of us has an internal dialogue, an inner conversation going on with ourselves. In fact, we talk more to ourselves than we do to anybody else.  The problem is that this conversation is often negative and it can reduce our desire to do anything.  Furthermore, it is easy to focus on the reasons why we can't do, have, buy, achieve, and become what we want (in every area of our lives) instead of giving ourselves all the reasons why we can do what they want. For instance, consider someone whose goal is to lose weight and get back in shape. Instead of giving themselves reasons why they can lose weight and get back in shape, they start to give themselves reasons why they can't achieve their goal. Things like: ·       I'm not that disciplined ·       I lack the determination ·       I love food; I just can't resist it - I’m a good cook you know. ·    ...

Concentrate on One Thought at a Time

Image
You cannot have a feeling or emotion without first having experienced a thought. Your thoughts are entirely yours to keep, change, share , or contemplate. The problem is that scattered thoughts can make any task seem more taxing, and it decreases your mental power. The good news is that you have the power to control your thoughts, train your mind to focus on one thought at a time, and let go of unimportant random thoughts. “The immature mind hops from one thing to another; the mature mind seeks to follow through.” – Harry A. Overstreet                                 Moreover, you may have nagging thoughts and/or worries about the future that distract you from giving 100% attention to the task at hand . As a result, they decrease your concentration and make it difficult to focus on one thought/activity at a time.  ...

Capture and Replace Every Negative Thought in Your Mind Immediately

According to medical science, 87 to 95 percent of current physical and emotional illnesses come from our thought life. Thoughts repeatedly sown will be reaped in physical manifestation and what we think will determine how we function spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. The problem is that you may have random nagging thoughts that are not exactly worries but irritating thoughts. As a result, they distract you from focusing on the task at hand. If you don't deal with these thoughts (by capturing and replacing them) they could throw your brain into a frenzy of broken feedback loops, disrupting the natural flow and balance of chemicals in your brain and body. This in turn will affect your emotional and physical state. To solve this problem, capture each negative thought that comes to your mind the moment you notice random thoughts, nagging at you while you are working on your objectives, by writing them down on paper. As you write these thoughts on paper, don't wo...

Rise Above Your Limiting Beliefs

We have been conditioned by outside influences almost from the moment of our birth and this often results in low self-image. Whether you have been conditioned by the limiting predictions from a shortsighted parent since childhood, or someone just expressed doubt about your goals, you may be letting the negative preconceptions of others invade your mind and deplete your motivation.  To solve this problem, you have to release these limiting messages by holding a private ceremony in which you symbolically let go of any internalized messages or programming you’ve received from others. You can do this because you can recondition your mind to think in new ways.  Realize that any conditioning created by the mind of the individual can be reversed or be recreated. Most importantly, you must recognize your unique possibilities, making your own decisions about who you are and what you will become, rather than passively submitting to the power of your environment. “I advise y...

Silence is Golden

If you want to get the most out of your life and enjoy the trip along the way, you must get in the healthy habit of setting aside some 'down' time daily - each and every day without exception. Going into the silence, having complete stillness, is by far the best way to learn how to activate your inner guidance voice. In addition, everything that is valuable for us to know will come to us if we will open ourselves to the voice of the universal mind. “Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From this quiet reflection will come even more effective action.” – James Levin However, from the moment we wake up in the morning until we finally drift off to sleep at night, a din of nonstop noise is in our face all over the place. Everywhere we go and everywhere we turn, there seems to be no end to the racket and ruckus going on all around us. And it is worth noting that the silence of a quiet place is something many people have not experienced. In addition, many peop...

Take Time to Think

The greatest people from time to time avoid the company of others. Without exception all outstanding people spend a good deal of time in uninterrupted thought. They get right away, either in a room of their own and lock the door or walk up a hill where they can sit and quietly meditate. It is important that you spend a considerable amount of time alone every day contemplating, meditating, and listening to your inner voice. The problem is there are too many distractions in everyday life and it is very easy to come up with many excuses why we can’t take time to think.  To solve this problem, make yourself a study "away from it all" even though it is only an attic or shed. Go to this "retreat" regularly. If you cannot do this, go high up some hill where you can sit alone. Try and dwell with yourself for a short time every day. Take with you that "listening" attitude, as though you were expecting to hear something.  “Follow effective action with quiet...
