Opportunities Are Knocking

Throughout our lives there are new, exciting opportunities but we have to look for them. The problem is that too many people wait for an opportunity to present itself. Opportunity does not chase you; you have to go after it. Think about this for a moment. Every day on TV and radio and in newspapers we hear about discoveries which testify the talents and abilities of the "ordinary person" in the worlds of sport, music, literature, science, technology, medicine, and the arts.

“I was seldom able to see an opportunity until it had ceased to be one.”   - Mark Twain

Too many people, however, think that those talents exist only in others and not in themselves, yet they are also "ordinary everyday people". Every "ordinary person" is exceptional when involved in the right opportunity, an opportunity of their own creation, making, or catching. You are a genius at something and you have to find it, develop it, and share it with the world.

Furthermore, regardless of your line of work there is always unlimited opportunity and people who can discard conventional disbelief and learn to relate the normally unrelated will not only find all that they want materially, but also a great deal of happiness and satisfaction in their achievement.

So, always seek to improve yourself and the world you want will swiftly follow. Understand that a true symphony of success in every area of your life is already within you, waiting your conducting. Later, I will be talking about the importance of having written goals in every area your life.

The truth is that you have to plan and prepare, so that when you recognize an opportunity that is consistent with your wants, you are ready for it. With no goal how will you recognize it? The opportunity will pass you by simply because you are ready for it! Therefore, whatever your goal is, when you know its worth to you, study and prepare yourself so that when an opportunity presents itself you will instantly recognize it and be prepared to do what is necessary.

“If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it.”
                                                            - Jonathan Winters

What is noteworthy is that within every kind of work there is another opportunity waiting to be noticed. Take time to look at what you are doing in a way a stranger will do and ask yourself: "Why do I do that this way or that way?" sometimes we are so close to something we don't see the opportunity right under our nose. We don't see the wood for the trees so to speak.

To Your Success,
