7 Ways to Overcome the Fear of Paying the Price

Many people never dream of reaching their goals because of the fear of paying the price. This is usually during the planning and preparation stages when they allow the negative voices in their mind to convince them that they don't have what it takes to get what they want ( in every area of their lives), or that what they want to achieve is impossible. “To be successful, you must decide exactly what you want to accomplish, and then resolve to pay the price to get it.”   - Bunker Hunt Keep in mind that the more you question your ability to do what you've planned to do, the more self-doubt gets a strong grip on your mind and it can begin to dampen your enthusiasm and motivation. As a result, it makes the thought of paying a price of any kind so daunting. To solve this problem, here are 7 tips to help you overcome the fear of paying the price to get what you want (in every area of your life). 1. Set worthy goals based on what you really want We become more wi...

25 Goal-Attainment Principles to Keep in Mind Every Day

I hope by now that you have developed the habit of goal setting. You should have daily, weekly, and monthly goals. The good news is that as you keep on adding new goals (in every area of your life), and write them down on paper in a way that is clear, easy to follow, and providing all the information you need at a glance, it becomes easier to develop this (success) habit. Keep in mind that only by persistently and consistently taking action over and over again will you build the habit of goal-setting. Of course, it takes some degree of discipline in building new habits but the discipline required becomes easy when you begin to achieve numerous goals (in every area of your life) and this not only builds your confidence, self-esteem and self-worth but also creates the habit of success, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Now, I’ve found that sometimes we lose our motivation to achieve our goals simply because we forget certain key (goal-attainment/ Biblical /success) princi...

Plan and Prepare Diligently Before You Begin

In order to get the results you want (in every area of your life), you must desire to, plan to, and make the necessary effort to get it. You have to plan every step upward to your own high mountaintop, and it is worth mentioning that a good plan is like a road map: it shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there. Here are 25 key reasons why you should plan and prepare diligently before you begin taking steps toward your goals (in every area of your life): 1.     That's what the scripture says: "Write the vision; make it plain upon tablets so he may run who reads it…" — Habakkuk 2:2 (RSV) 2.    Courage and confidence to do what you've planned (in every area of your life) comes through practice. 3.     It helps you to prepare yourself psychologically in terms of resolve and discipline. And knowing the price to pay (for example, learning new skills) helps you to accomplish this. 4.   The price for achieving p...

Take Immediate Action

It is the beginning of a task that is more difficult than continuing once the momentum has been created. Once you have the momentum you will become unstoppable; consistency creates momentum and momentum is sustained through consistency. Moreover, the instant you commit yourself to something is the instant you start achieving it. And until there is commitment, there will always be a way back or a way to avoid doing what is essential to the attainment of your goals. The problem is that commitment is not something that we can manufacture – it is something that we discover deep down within us. I must admit that I was a procrastinator before I developed the habit of putting my goals down on paper and keeping a goal journal. And to be honest, if there is one habit that’s changed my life so much over the years is simply the habit of having written goals . I can’t list all the benefits here, but one thing I can tell you is that by writing each goal down on paper (in a goal journal), deve...

Give Yourself Reasons Why You Can

Each one of us has an internal dialogue, an inner conversation going on with ourselves. In fact, we talk more to ourselves than we do to anybody else.  The problem is that this conversation is often negative and it can reduce our desire to do anything.  Furthermore, it is easy to focus on the reasons why we can't do, have, buy, achieve, and become what we want (in every area of our lives) instead of giving ourselves all the reasons why we can do what they want. For instance, consider someone whose goal is to lose weight and get back in shape. Instead of giving themselves reasons why they can lose weight and get back in shape, they start to give themselves reasons why they can't achieve their goal. Things like: ·       I'm not that disciplined ·       I lack the determination ·       I love food; I just can't resist it - I’m a good cook you know. ·    ...

7 Ways to Motivate Yourself

Image
Motivational tips vary in their effectiveness depending on your mood and current state of mind. That's why a tip that worked for you yesterday may not be as effective today. Therefore, be willing to try something new if you feel uninspired by some suggestions. There are many more ways to motivate yourself than I could possibly list, but the following should get your creative juices flowing: 1. Make a to-do list If your tasks seem too many and overwhelming you should make a detailed list of everything you want to accomplish today (keep in mind that you have to plan the next day the night before). Ideally, what you write on this list should take you one step closer to each (high priority) goal in your goal journal. (Remember, having written goals help you to prioritize your work, set deadlines, and monitor your progress). 2. Pray Worry never fixes anything and it is a bad habit we have to break. The problem is that we easily get into the habit of ne...

How to Imagine the Outcome You Want

Image
The “big picture” is the end result or the outcome you want. You have to accomplish mentally what you want before you can accomplish it materially, and it is worth mentioning that successful people from all walks of life rehearse in their mind's eye first. They literally practice in their imagination. They see the end result. The problem is that as the picture of reality is so vivid in your mind it can often neutralize the picture you are attempting to establish. Moreover, what you do at the moment may not be your vocation, but they are vehicles to it. As a result, is easy to get snagged on the little task you have to do presently and lose sight of the “big picture” – the end result of what you are working toward.  To solve this problem, you have to revisit the end result of the dream/goal frequently, and remind yourself that the small steps you take daily are leading you in the right direction toward the attainment of your goal. Yes, you are the one to do this activ...
