Silence is Golden
If you want to get the most out of your life and enjoy the trip along the way, you must get in the healthy habit of setting aside some 'down' time daily - each and every day without exception. Going into the silence, having complete stillness, is by far the best way to learn how to activate your inner guidance voice. In addition, everything that is valuable for us to know will come to us if we will open ourselves to the voice of the universal mind.
“Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From this quiet reflection will come even more effective action.” – James Levin
However, from the moment we wake up in the morning until we finally drift off to sleep at night, a din of nonstop noise is in our face all over the place. Everywhere we go and everywhere we turn, there seems to be no end to the racket and ruckus going on all around us. And it is worth noting that the silence of a quiet place is something many people have not experienced.
In addition, many people fail to tap into their innate powerful source because they confer with everybody and everything else but themselves. They go to great lengths to not be alone, to be surrounded by others yet only by "aloneness" can you learn to tune in to your inner voice. If this is the case with you, how then can your hear your inner voice, the voice that is constantly at work for you, trying to show you where to go and how to get what you want? Simple — you cannot.
“There is only one journey: going inside yourself.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke
To solve this problem, ensure that you take time to think – preferably every day. Perhaps early in the morning or late in the evening or during lunch, it doesn't matter when so long as your mind is fresh and free from distractions. You may say that you don't just have the time and that every hour is spoken for but the truth is that’s just an excuse.
Your day has 1440 minutes in it. Each day invest just 1 percent of that time in a study, thinking, and planning session and you would be amazed at what rewards those 14 minutes will do for you. By calling a halt, being still and listening you load will be eased. You will see how best to complete your work without effort and you will be absolutely amazed at how much more you can get accomplished when you periodically turn down the sound throughout the day.
The Bottom Line: You need to take a few quiet breaks daily to revive, refresh and refocus. A quiet place is essential, and if you have not got one, then you must reorganize your world.
To your success,
Gerard Ndzebir
